Camp 2007

The Lord has blessed our ministry with the free use of a small uninhabited island for camp and church use. This island is about 4 miles away from us across the lagoon. The location is ideal as it is the closest island along the reef from our village, the trade winds come off the lagoon there, and it has a lovely sandy beach (some islands in our atoll have only coral on the beaches). We have built a pavilion, 4 cabins (each sleeps 9 people), a cook hut, and a double bathroom there. We use the camp facilities for our summer camp as well as for retreats during the year, and from time to time we need to go to the camp for upkeep and cleaning.
Initially, we had used a boat owned by our island's local government to transport people and supplies there. Sometimes we have had to rent other boats when the government boat was not working. Our family owns a small 12 foot boat with a 15 hp engine, and although we use that to get to the camp island, it will not take many people or supplies. Through the gifts of many friends, the Lord has supplied a great 20 foot fiberglass boat with twin 50 hp Suzuki engines and a trailer! We took posession of it in early June, and already it has been a great help.
