The Lord has provided 1/2 acre for Laura Baptist Church to lease in our village of Laura. The location is on the lagoon side of the island although across the main road from the lagoon. The building is 36 ft x 28 ft. It is made of concrete block and plastered with cement and has a tin roof. With the help of a supporting church in PA, we were able to purchase aluminum louvres. These allow for security as well as good air flow. We have a shallow well on the property and a simple bathroom next to the church building. When we have more funds, we will add another 18 feet onto the south end of the building for a classroom, 2 bathrooms, and a storage room. Currently, the children's SS class meets out back under the shade of a breadfruit tree, the men's class meets under a pandanus tree near the road, and the women's class meets inside the church.
